Organized Camping

You know, I've done a lot of camping in a tent over the years so I write this from experience.
We do car camping, not backpacking. I would Not suggest this for backpacking! ;)
Before we left home we emptied my husband's tool box and made it our kitchen cupboard.

We put the most-used items in the top so a spoon or the sparker for the stove was always ready and easy to find. We put all the spices in the middle drawer along with the drinks. The bottom drawer held the less-used kitchen utensils. The top drawer (which is not open in the photo) held all the ziploc and garbage bags.
We set this  on the bench at the end of the picnic table. The camp stove always sits at the end of the picnic table so having this sit right there while we cooked was Handy. All four people in our family agreed that this was a big step up from the bins we usually use. At night, we stored it in the truck along with the food.

No, sadly, that is not our van. It is my sister and her husband's. Our family is trying not to be jealous of it. ;)
